The Palio di San Giovanni in Fabriano

Fabriano is a carefully preserved medieval city and it comes alive during the San Giovanni Festival. San Giovanni is the patron saint of the town. The Palio di San Giovanni, or Saint John Contest, is a nine days event that includes medieval reenactment, historical parades, flower displays, and a blacksmiths contest. And one of the contests is called "Infiorata" . In this contest, they used fresh and dried flower petals, herbs and shrub species in making a huge pictures or scenes dedicated to St. Giovanni Battista. Every year, there are different themes and there are four churches who are competing in this contest wherein we could see this work of arts displayed on the church floor.

New Title, New Lay-out

It's been 3 days already that I am thinking to change the title of this blog. I even asked Dhemcy on what is the best substitute for it. And she gave me this title. So since, I changed the title of this blog, I decided also to change it's lay-out. I hope I'll be lucky with these changes...:)

A Very Cold Weather

Right now, almost all of the countries here in Europe are experiencing a very cold weather. And last Monday, one of the province here in Italy (Abruzzo) had a very low temperature (-30). And we are very lucky here in Marche because we had only -5. Not unlike in the Northern part of Italy, we have no snow ( as of the moment ).
